Who are we?
Our role grew through the COVID-19 pandemic and more recently as a result of the cost of living crisis, which has meant the number of households seeking our support has grown significantly and they now need longer-term support not just emergency help.
Bow Foodbank recognises that for a person to seek the support of a Foodbank is a difficult decision not taken lightly. Our ethos is to provide food support with dignity and respect, with as much choice as possible in a friendly atmosphere free from judgement. Clients don’t need to be referred and we are open to anyone in need in Tower Hamlets.
We currently support over 500 households a week and around 2,000 people across the Borough. Our annual turnover does vary but is currently around £750,000 p.a. covering the cost of our small staff team with the majority going on food and other household items.
Bow Foodbank depends on the hard work of dedicated volunteers to deliver our services with the oversight of our small but skilled staff team.
