Bow Foodbank has launched its annual Nourishing Hope matched giving campaign, and we’re excited to share that the Aviva Community Fund is once again matching every donation made through our campaign page until 2nd January 2026.
This means every pound you donate will be doubled, helping us reach more neighbours facing food poverty, financial insecurity, and digital exclusion across Tower Hamlets.
With donations matched up to £250 per supporter (up to a total of £50,000), this is the most impactful way to support Bow Foodbank this year.
Why This Matched Giving Campaign Matters for Tower Hamlets
Tower Hamlets remains one of the areas with the highest levels of food poverty and cost-of-living pressures in the UK. Each week, Bow Foodbank supports over 400 guests with emergency food, advice, and compassionate support.
Last year’s fundraiser helped us make major improvements to the way we support people beyond food, including:
- Expanding our referrals marketplace
- Strengthening partnerships with specialist organisations such as Lawstop and FirstLove
- Providing more advice and guidance for guests
- Improving volunteer training to ensure support is offered with dignity
- Capturing guest feedback to shape services around real community needs
These improvements have made Bow Foodbank one of the most trusted frontline support hubs in Tower Hamlets.
What This Year’s Campaign Will Fund in 2026
As the needs in our community grow, we are focusing on services that build long-term resilience, reduce financial vulnerability, and support families in crisis.

1. Support for Young People
We want to provide more than just food, and help the young people we support in building confidence, financial literacy, and practical life skills.
2. Digital Inclusion Support
Helping residents access essential online services, benefits, job applications and healthcare and place their orders with us online.
3. Safe Baby-Feeding Support
Ensuring carers have access to the essentials and guidance needed to feed their children safely in partnership with the baby feeding team.
4. Housing & Homelessness Advocacy
Providing support for neighbours navigating eviction risk, temporary accommodation, or unsafe housing.
These services help ensure that people who come to Bow Foodbank not only receive food but also leave with dignity, hope, and practical support that helps build their resilience.
