We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a National Lottery Community Fund grant which will pay for two staff over the next three years. It will also cover some of our basic office costs.
Because of the massive response needed during the pandemic lockdowns, our two foodbank sites served thousands of local people – many of whom were using a foodbank for the first time.
The lottery funding for staff and office costs means that we are now able to put the structures in place to ensure the foodbank is secure and stable going forward. Managing hundreds of volunteers, feeding thousands of clients and co-ordinating across two sites is a major operation. We’re grateful to the National Lottery for its support in helping us do just that.
