Thanks to the hard work of the committee and volunteers and the generosity of food donors over last weekend, this week we were able to distribute roughly 270 food support packs to our Monday users, and 60 weekly food packs to the housebound.
We are now distributing approximately three times the amount of food and toiletries that we were before the crisis began. This has been possible thanks to the logistical support given by the council, the collaboration with other partners, the generosity of donors, and the ingenuity of different members of the management team in finding sources of bulk supplies.
This week we also welcomed Kate Coules for an exploratory week working with us, before formally beginning a secondment with Bow Foodbank from Bromley-By-Bow Community Fridge. Kate will be putting our stock control on a surer footing and helping manage the transitions of scale over the coming months. We wish her all the very best in her role.
